First Week of College Essay - Uses My Name to Describe My First Week

First Week of College Essay - Uses My Name to Describe My First WeekIf you've ever written an essay about your first week of college, you can relate. In fact, if you've ever read an essay about your first week of college, you can probably relate to this particular example as well. It's almost the same thing. I wrote a first-week-of-college essay, and yet it still got me through the month. This is in spite of the fact that the assignment was a quite different form than the rest of my essays. It's always nice to get something that you put a lot of work into in order to give to your readers. But in this case, I was given a challenging assignment. It was not a high school assignment.Since the essay was about a first-week-of-college assignment, I had to come up with a subject matter that I knew nothing about. That really wasn't too hard. All I had to do was look up what the rest of the students in my class knew.Because I'm only two years older than most of my classmates, it only makes sense that my name sounds like 'shade.' And because I don't read, write, or speak much English, my name comes out sounding like 'natural.' That didn't seem to be such a big deal, since I knew more about my class.Fortunately, I thought about it for a second and realized that my name sounds very similar to 'dish.' It's a pretty common name. Still, I figured that I might be surprised how many other people have the same name, so I stuck with it.That's not to say that my writing was perfect. The essay is only four sentences long, so I didn't feel like I had much room to develop the subject matter and put it all together. As it was, I wrote about five pages, and then I cut it down to four. This first essay was not a very good essay, but it still got me through the month. It just didn't have the big impact that my first-week-of-college essay did.
